"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." - Mark 16:15

Are Heretics Saved?

Yes, they can be!  Please, let me explain.

We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone.  No works of our own.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”  Ephesians 2:8
The Gospel, through which we are saved, is given loud and clearly by the Apostle Paul,
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" 1 Cor 15:1-4
We are saved by believing that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, that He was buried, and that He bodily rose again the third day.

That's all.

If a person believes this, in that moment, they are saved.

What if a person later on loses their faith?

If a person has believed the Gospel, at some point in their life, they are still saved,
If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.” 2 Timothy 2:13
Faith does not even have to endure.  God is faithful, even if a person is not.  Even if that person, who once believed the Gospel, no longer believes, because God abideth faithful:  He cannot deny Himself.

So, it is quite possible for a person who is saved, to later on lose their faith, or to later on be confused by false teachers, or incorrect understanding of scriptures.  They doubt, or just lose faith, but God remains faithful.  Once saved, always saved.

What if a person later feels they don't have works so aren't saved?

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” Ephesians 2:8
Regardless of what we later believe, if anyone has put their whole trust on Christ, by believing the Gospel, at any earlier stage of their life, they are saved.

Even if they later think differently, or even if they later teach differently.  If they have at one stage believed entirely on the Gospel, and the Gospel alone, they are saved.

When Does False Gospels equal Death?

False Gospels equal death when a person adds to the Gospel to begin with.  If a person has never FULLY rested on Christ by believing the Gospel, and this alone, at any stage in their life, then they are not saved.

We can be murderers, disbelievers, living just like the world, far from God, all sorts. As long as we have trusted in the Gospel and the Gospel alone at one point in our lives, we are saved, regardless of what we believe or teach later.

False Gospels only become death if we've never accepted the Gospel alone.  For instance, if a person accepts the Gospel while thinking the Gospel isn't enough, baptism has to be added to it, they've never believed the Gospel.

If a person accepts the Gospel while thinking their faith must endure, then they've never fully rested on God's promise.

If a person accepts the Gospel while thinking they must still have works, then they've never fully rested on the God's work, but on their own.

So yes, a person can believe wrong and still be saved, but only if they believe wrong at a later date.  The one's who've never believed entirely on the Gospel alone at any stage, are the ones at risk of hellfire damnation.

THIS is how false Gospels are so devious.  And how they must be shown for what they are.  A person may never receive the Gospel because it's been added to, by the person who's told them it.

“O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” Galatians 3:1-3
But the person who believes wrong now, but believed right then; they are saved.

What should we do about people who preach a false Gospel, Even if they are Saved?

We should rebuke them,
"This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth." Titus 1:13-14
It is not just for the sake of their souls (being saved, then their rewards in Heaven), but, for the sake of other people's souls.  We do it for a love for the lost.  There's many false prophets out there, we gotta try and make sure that when people get the Gospel, that they get it right.

And if need be, contend for the Gospel, through our knowledge of the scriptures,
“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” Jude 1:3
and,
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Tim. 2:15

Amen.
