Discussion of Vegetarianism/Veganism

"Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked" Ephesians 6:16

Veganism is a false, unbiblical doctrine.  Historically, it's been a vehicle used for corrupting Christianity, introducing false religions, mysticism.  Just as today, it is associated with elevating animals to the same level as people, which is not Biblical, and psychology and research shows, it is associated causing deviant behavior in society, and creating unhappiness in individuals.

Just because someone is a vegetarian or a vegan doesn't make them a bad person, or unsaved.  But the philosophy of veganism, is what separates it from being something one does for health reasons, to something one does to view animals as equal to people.

The only time it is shown in the Bible, was John the Baptist, who ate of locusts and honey, not because it was wrong to eat meat, but in order to fulfill the prophesy of his ministry, that he would live, and be a voice, in the wilderness.  John the Baptist did not object to others being married, did not elevate the position of animals to that of people.

Interestingly, across different time periods, different cultures, historical, and present, there appears to be commonalities to the vegetarian/vegan philosophy/lifestyle, typically, these are:

- Abstaining from meats
- Celibacy, or birth control (vasectomy) or some form of population control being seen as advantageous
- Placing animals, even microbes, on the same level as people
- Ascetic lifestyles, frequently rather harsh
- Depression, anxiety disorders, body dysmorphias
- Tattoos
- If Christian, strange un-Christian beliefs and corruption of Scripture
- If not Christian, typically atheist, or new age beliefs.  The belief of veganism itself being described as 'spiritual'.

Veganism opens the door to being afflicted by false spirits, to being led astray from a sound mind, to demonic possession, to being led away from being saved (Christ), to unhappiness.

Satan uses our weaknesses against us as ways to exploit us and control us.

The Bible tells us that veganism/vegetarianism is a false doctrine.  The historical and current evidence demonstrates the truth of the Bible.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
