"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." - Mark 16:15

The Glorious Gospel of Christ

That Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day.

'Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:' 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

What did Jesus say that we are to do?

'Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.' Mark 1:15

Repent is the Greek word metanoia, which means to have a change of mind.

We are to have a change of mind, from not believing, to believing in the Gospel, which is that Jesus died for our sins, that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day.

We are saved by believing.  Faith alone saves us.  It is not of works, lest any man should boast,

'For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.' Ephesians 2:8-9

We are saved through faith, not of ourselves, it's the gift of God.

As much as this life can be hard, and we can be persecuted for being Christians, remember, it is not our works that save us, it is our faith, our faith in Jesus, who died for our sins, was buried, and bodily rose again the third day.  Once saved, always saved, and no man can take away our joy.

If you haven't already, please accept Jesus as your Saviour, by believing on Jesus, who died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and bodily rose again three days later.  Jesus lived without sin, paying the price for our salvation because we can't.  No one can live without sin, no one is good enough on their own.  No amount of good works will get you into Heaven.  Faith and good works won't get you into Heaven.  You are saved entirely by believing the glorious Gospel of Christ.  You can be sure of going to Heaven.  This is the simplicity that is in Christ.

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:3

When we are saved, God can and does work on our heart, as one of His children, we are compelled to live better and live more as a Christian.  But living as a Christian won't save us.  Believing on the Gospel and the Gospel alone for eternal life, not of works is what saves us.  Adding works to God's plan won't please God, because God's plan is for us to be saved purely by faith.

Once saved, as we grow in our Christian faith, we may turn to discipleship, which is living as a Christian, which is really hard, but that is different from being saved, which is a gift of God, which is easy, through faith.  When we are saved through faith, any good works we do we will be rewarded for in Heaven, but if you rely on your faith AND your works, then you will not go to Heaven, because then it is not of faith, but of your own works.

'And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.' Romans 11:6

Accept Gods simple plan of salvation today.  Faith pleases God, we are saved through faith, and faith alone, which is Gods instruction to us.

Amen.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Trusting Jesus (God in the flesh) and Jesus alone for salvation, secures you as a born again believer.  The first birth is of flesh, the second birth is of Spirit.  By believing in the Gospel, we have our second birth, being baptised in the Holy Spirit, we become spiritually alive,
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
