"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." - Mark 16:15

Jesus Is Lord?  Romans 10:9

Now, first of all, I want to say, Jesus IS Lord!  However, I would like to examine

1.   What is meant by Lord

and

2.   Bible versions which have Jesus is Lord, rather than the King James version which has the Lord Jesus.

Jesus Is Lord

The word 'Lord', in the New Testament, is from the Greek word, kyrios, which means, supreme authority,
κύριος kýrios, koo'-ree-os; from κῦρος kŷros (supremacy); supreme in authority, i.e. (as noun) controller; by implication, Master (as a respectful title):—God, Lord, master, Sir.  Link
Which is to say, that Jesus is the Supreme Authority, that is, to say, He is God.

How to Present This in Translation?

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9 (KJV)
Notice in the above scripture, which is one of the main scriptures used in soulwinning, evangelizing, used in the 'Romans Road', that it is presented in the King James Bible as, 'the Lord Jesus'.

From experience, and common sense!  This is the correct way to present it! That is, as 'the Lord Jesus'!  When one is born again, by accepting Christ as his Saviour, that person, assuming they are not part of some false cult, for instance, Mormons, or Jehovah's Witnesses, who believe in a DIFFERENT Jesus, ie Mormons, believe that Jesus was a created being, and that he is one of thousands of 'gods', and that Jehovah's Witnesses, who believe that Jesus is not God, but is just the angel Michael (and therefore not God) - see  2 Corinthians 11:4,
“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” 2 Corinthians 11:4
That is, if the person is truly born again; believing that Jesus IS the Christ, as Simon Peter said, 'thou art the Christ' (Mat.16:16), and not some imposter 'Jesus', as the Mormons have, the Jehovah's Witnesses have, the 7th Day Adventists have, the Muslims have, and so forth with the cults, the person is declaring their belief on 'the LORD JESUS', Jesus who IS GOD, then that person is saved,
For whosover shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  (Romans 10:13)

What's wrong with presenting it as 'Jesus is Lord'?

Friends, when people think of the word, Lord, they tend to associate it with the word, Master.  That is, when someone, who is being saved, declares Jesus as Lord, are they really being saved?  Are they believing on His name, on Him, the LORD JESUS CHRIST, through belief that He is the Messiah, the Living God, to cleanse them of their sin, so that they be born again, or INSTEAD, are they relying on their own self righteousness?

That is, are they declaring, by Jesus is Lord, are they declaring, instead of belief on who He is for forgiveness of their sins, they are instead, declaring to make Him master, to make him 'Lord' over their lives?  They are not declaring belief in Jesus to cleanse them of their sins, instead, they are declaring, and believing, that salvation instead comes from following a life of OBEDIENCE, rather than accepting the GIFT of His salvation.

Folks, think about this, please!  If a person declares Christ to be their Lord, their 'Master', that is, to serve Him, then what are they doing to serve Him?  They are putting a life of serving in place of the spiritual birth of simply believing on Him so that their sins may be forgiven.

They are RELYING on their OWN self-righteousness, a life of dedication and service, they are relying on their WORKS, instead of relying on Jesus, the Lord Jesus, to save them, purely by faith and faith alone, which is the ONLY way to be saved.

What of a person who was relying on their works in the Bible? - The Rich Young Ruler

Luke 18:18-25, “And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
In Luke 18, we find a rich young man coming to Jesus, asking Jesus how he should inherit eternal life.  The rich young ruler was a good man, he had God as his Lord, his master.  The rich young man did not commit adultery, he did not kill, he did not steal, he did not lie, he did not gossip, he honoured his parents.  As people go, he is a GOOD person.  But then, Jesus said to him, that he lacks one thing - that he should sell EVERYTHING that he has, distribute it to the poor, and THEN he must also continue in servant-ship, he must then also, follow Jesus!  And the rich young man departed, full of sorrow.

Basically, for that rich young man to be saved, by declaring Jesus - God as his 'Lord', his 'Master', he would have had to continue doing all the good things he was all ready doing, but also sell EVERYTHING that he had, give it to the poor, and then live, penniless, destitute, perhaps even without a roof over his head.

Folks, this is WORKS based salvation, and it is IMPOSSIBLE!  No man can be justified by the law, for EVERY man falls short of it, for we ALL sin, and to be guilty of ONE sin, is to be guilty of ALL sin!

For it is written:
“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”  James 2:10
Everyone sins!  The ONLY way to be saved is through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Declaring Jesus as 'Lord', is for many, if not all, to declare him as master, as 'Lord', it is to, instead of having the new birth, it is instead to have people relentlessly slaving away, trying to win their way into Heaven through obedience; works, denying themselves whilst pumping up their own self-righteousness, and yet, leading to disaster.

It replaces the new birth, with works, it replaces the new birth, with religion, and then, such people will have the awful experience of this,
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”  Mat. 7:21-23
Some people will live the religious life, and yet, having never accepted Jesus as their Saviour, instead, being duped into following a life of religion instead, will never have the new birth of the Holy Spirit living inside them, 'being sealed unto the day of redemption' (Eph. 4:30).  They will have CHURCHIANITY without CHRISTIANITY.  RELIGION in place of the Spiritual birth!

Take a Look at How Other 'Bible's' Present This

From https://biblehub.com/romans/10-9.htm

They ALL present Romans 10:9, the great evangelical scripture, as Jesus IS Lord, rather than the LORD JESUS, therefore, instead of creating the NEW BIRTH, instead, creating a STILL BIRTH.  A religiousness, rather than a RIGHTEOUSNESS of CHRIST!!!
New International Version

Even the so called, "conservative', ESV (English Standard Version), presents a 'Lordship', works based mis-translation, mis-alignment of the sacred Bible verse,
English Standard Version
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Only the blessed King James Bible, has the power of God, to get people saved,
King James Bible
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Folks, we must be on our guard against modern Bibles, which, through scholarship, or so called scholarship and deceit, corrupt the Word of God.  Our love of God's Word is on the line.  Souls are on the line.  Eternal destiny - in Heaven, or in Hell, is on the line. And we need our weapon in the fight, and the unsaved need to know the TRUTH, so that they may be saved, and when saved, nurtured in the sincere milk of the Lord. (1 Pet. 2:2).

The SINCERE milk of the WORD

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2:2

Notice the Bible says, desire the SINCERE milk of the word.  We don't just desire any sort of version of the word.  Something turned out by godless, unbelieving, ecumenical, so called 'scholars', we desire the SINCERE milk of the word, and that is found in the blessed King James Bible.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”  Heb. 4:12

Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.” Psalms 119:140
