Pastor Gene Kim correctly presents the Gospel in the above YouTube link.

One is saved entirely by faith, and not of works!
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

Why can't our works save us?

Nail on Cross

The reason why works CANNOT save us, is because, one sin, even just one sin, is enough, in the eyes of a Holy God, to condemn us of ALL sin.

When you think about a court of law.  If you have stolen, then you are a thief.  The theft may have taken place years ago, but you still took that which is not yours.  If you've lied, then, it might have happened years ago, but, you are still, a liar.  You could tell the truth for EVER or as hard as you can since then, but, what's happened has happened, and, one can't wipe that off our record.

Hated someone?  To hate, to wish evil on to another, is akin to murder.  Gossip is a sin, scheming against a person, murdering their personality, reputation, with one's words.

The Great White Throne of Judgement

In the court of Heaven, it doesn't matter whether you've been caught or not, by others, by your peers, like it does with an earthly court.  God knows all that we have done, even our very thoughts.

Each of us has committed at least one sin, we all have.  If we say that we haven't then we deceive ourselves.  You, and me too, we both know it's true about the both of us!
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." 1 John 1:8
The Heavenly court, rather than an earthly court, is the Great White Throne of judgement, where lost sinners will be judged by God,
"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.”  Revelation 20:11
All of us are guilty of something, we've all thought, done, or purposed in our hearts something.  It's true, NONE of us are perfect.  It is mankind's way, that we've fallen into sin, and, just one sin finds us guilty in God's court.  With just one sin, we are condemned, and rightfully so, as sinners.

No matter what we do to try to tidy up our lives, the record stands, we have sinned.

The Way Out

Cross at Sunset on Calvary

"He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." 1 John 3:8
God, in His infinite mercy, sent His only Begotten Son, God in the flesh, the Lord Jesus Christ, who lived a perfect life, and sinned not, as a sacrifice for us.

So that we may have eternal life, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, who lived a perfect sinless life, sacrificed Himself on the cross to pay for our sins.  Jesus payed a debt He didn't owe, because we couldn't, and can't.  Jesus sacrificed Himself on the cross for us, as a substitutionary sacrifice for a debt, as sinners, that we can never repay, satisfying God's perfect justice.

Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and, because He lived a perfect life, death could not hold him, He rose from the dead on the third day!

By believing on the Lord Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross for your sins, His death, burial, and bodily resurrection, your sin is paid for by the blood of Jesus.  His sacrifice on the cross wipes out your sin, blotting out and repaying your debt.
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18

Repenting?

Repent, in the Biblical sense, is from the Greek word metanoia, which means, to have a change of mind.

What is it we are to have a change of mind from?  We have a change of mind from whatever it is that is stopping us from trusting ENTIRELY on the Lord Jesus Christ as our only way to Heaven.  For some people, that is from trusting their own works, for others, it's from not believing.  It is WHATEVER that is STOPPING you from trusting Jesus as your ONLY way to Heaven!

It is not, turning from sin.  Turning from sin is relying on our works, which, as we have seen, will never make the grade, because we cannot change the past.  It is rather, turning TO Jesus!
β€œAnd this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:40

Growing as a Christian

Congratulations!  If you have trusted on Jesus' sacrifice on the cross as your ONLY way to Heaven, His death on the cross, His burial, and bodily resurrection, then you are now a CHILD of GOD!  The Holy Spirit comes to live in you, which is known as the second birth, the first birth being of flesh (being physically born), the second birth being of Spirit, that is, being born again!

As children, we look to grow in our new family.  We do this by reading the Holy Bible, the King James Bible, listening to and reading Biblically sound preaching and teaching.  Church is a great way to grow in God's family, but, as Pastor Kim says, many people, and churches, have been led astray.  Some believe on a different Jesus (Mormons, Jehovahs witnesses), others ADD to the Gospel, by adding works, therefore, they are not really trusting Jesus at all, but still their own righteousness.

Here are some great links to help you!

A great wealth and resource of information: Jesus-Is-Savior

Great Sermons by Pastor Danny Castle of Shining Light Baptist Church, YouTube Link.

These are just some suggestions.  What you do now is up to you.

God bless you my brother and sister in Christ!
