Vegetarianism: Conclusion

"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth." 1 Timothy 4:1-3

Conclusion

A case study of the history of veganism shows that it comes with false beliefs of Christianity. Mystical teaching.  New Age philosophy.  An excuse for anti-social behavior in today's society, and from psychology, a gateway to unhappiness and mental disorders in life (demonic influence and possession.)

The Bible shows that veganism/vegetarianism is a false doctrine, which is displayed in historical and current context.

Such as other vices, like alcohol, drugs, adultery, one should be careful of engaging in it.  Being a vegetarian or a vegan does not make one necessarily a bad person, but like other vices, it's a slippery slope.  Vegetarianism and veganism is perhaps more of a slippery slope, in that it comes with false beliefs, changes the message of Christ (which is Christianity), so it can have the affect of leaving us spiritually vulnerable, and not just physically vulnerable. If one is a vegeterian or vegan, and not a passive dieter who is simply cutting down on certain foods to improve one's health, it is prudent and wise to give consideration as to whether it is something one should continue with, or become too focused on especially as a philosophy, or to simply stop.

To re-iterate, the key features of vegetarianism/veganism, across all cultures, Western, Middle East, Eastern, and across different time periods, are the following, in varying degrees,

- Abstaining from meats
- Celibacy, or birth control (vasectomy) or some form of population control being seen as advantageous
- Placing animals, even microbes, on the same level as people
- Ascetic lifestyles, frequently rather harsh
- Depression, anxiety disorders, body dysmorphias
- Tattoos
- If Christian, strange un-Christian beliefs and corruption of Scripture
- If not Christian, typically atheist, or new age beliefs.  The belief of veganism itself being described as 'spiritual'.

"For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:" 1 Timothy 4:4
