"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." - Mark 16:15

You Tell On Yourself

You tell on yourself by the friends you seek,
By the very manner in which you speak,
By the way you employ your leisure time,
By the use you make of dollar and dime.
You tell what you are by the things you wear,
By the spirit in which you burdens bear.
By the kind of things at which you laugh,
By the records you play on the phonograph.
You tell what you are by the way you walk,
By the things of which you delight to talk,
By the manner in which you bear defeat,
By so simple a thing as how you eat.
By the books you choose from the well-filled shelf:
In these ways and more, you tell on yourself

When we live right, it means nothing, unless we are born again.  We are born again by recognising we are guitly sinners under the eyes of Holy God, and believing on the Gospel, which is that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and bodily rose on the third day.  When we believe on the good news, which is the Gospel, we become a child of God, and the Holy Spirit comes to live in us.  The first birth is of flesh, this second birth is of Spirit.

When we are saved, we become a child of God, a son, a daughter of God.  Once saved, we are always saved, because, no matter what we do, a father is still a father to his child, so it is that we are always a child of His, God, through Lord Jesus Christ, the very begotten Son of God.  God the Father, God the Son, Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, and God the Holy Spirit.

When we are saved, we grow as babes in Christ, reading the Bible, studying His word, and we want to please our Father, so we try to live right.

We try to live right, so that we please the Father, and have fellowship with Him (being close to our Father), and, so that others may see our faith too, because, God looks upon the heart, but, people are not always able to look upon our heart, but look toward our action - our walk - our testimony.  So that we may be a testimony to the Lord and through our testimony, none may speak ill of our Father, and that they too may come to repentance, that is, they too have a change of mind (which is what repentance means), and believe the Gospel, becoming children of God also, through Christ, who is God in the flesh, for no man may come to God except through Jesus (John 14:6), by believing on His sacrifice so that we all may have eternal life (John 3:16).

'Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.' James 2:18

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  John 3:16
